INSIGHT
Nothing But Nets is the world’s largest grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a disease which claims the life of a child every two minutes. Can you believe it?
Inspired by sports columnist Rick Reilly, hundreds of thousands of people have joined the campaign that was created by the United Nations Foundation in 2006, and since then NBN has raised over $60 million to help deliver 10 million bed nets to families in need. Yes. Mosquitos suck, but humans are awesome.
To help Nothing But Nets raises awareness and voices to advocate for critical malaria funding, I assisted Nothing But Nets with the development and release of their very first virtual reality film – “Under the Net.” The film enables viewers to take the perspective of an 11-year-old girl named Amisa, in an immersive documentary that provides a glimpse into what life is like in the Nyarugusu Refugee Camp in Tanzania.
